Ford is Ready for Portland
Ford views Portland as the leaders in readying themselves for plug-in electric vehicles.

Ford announced Tuesday August 24th that they had an agreement with PGE that is slated to pave the way for electric vehicles.

Richard Read from The Oregonian posted an article titled “Ford picks Portland to launch 14-city electric-vehicle tour” which goes into some detail on the Ford / Portland connection.
I pushed pedal to metal. The gleaming orange, all-electric Ford Focus shot along Tri-Met’s bus mall Tuesday, attracting stares.
Impressive torque. No noise. Those were chief impressions of the prototype plug-in car displayed in Portland at the first stop of Ford Motor Co.’s 14-city electric tour.

Reporters and electric-car enthusiasts check out Fords plug-in Focus prototype Tuesday at Portland State University's Urban Plaza. More than 60 percent of PSU students, faculty and staff use means other than one person in a car to commute to campus, and electric vehicles could cut carbon emissions further.
