What google Wants vs. What the Searcher Wants (no horse involved)!
Is there really a difference?

Regarding Gabriel Goldenberg’s post on June 26th “What Google Wants, Straight From The Horse’s Mouth

I was very surprised this post made it to Sphinn’s SerchCap.

There is really a thin argument for the premise that “google has moved beyond measuring SERP quality based on relevance.” Gabriel’s contention is that google is now aiming to provide the best user experience possible.

“They are aiming not just for relevance, but overall positive user experience.”
I agree whit the above statement, at least in part. It is my opinion that search result relevance is the most important ingredient if positive user experience! If you are searching for something wouldn’t you consider finding that “something” the most positive out come?

“That’s why Quality Score counts loading times.”
Don’t you think load time is an important factor in finding the information you are looking for? I wouldn’t want to find a site with the information I am looking for and having it take for ever to load or even worse breaks when it tries to load.

It is my contention that google hasn’t shifted their focus on what is important but they have gone deeper into what the searcher is asking for when they enter a search term into the field.
