Marketing, branding, linkbait, and Dutch Bros, what’s this all about?
Dutch Bros, an Oregon company that has done a great job of marketing and branding.
They have unique Dutch Bros stickers that they give away. They have actually become collectors items.
When a new franchise opens they give away their delightful coffee drinks for 4 days.
Their brand is Great Coffee and Greater Customer Service. This service is exemplified by the Oregon City Dutch Brothers Staff. They are friendly always upbeat and they even remember you coffee drink and it’s particulars. They actually have it ready by the time you get to the window.
My wife Shirley and I are so impressed with Dutch Brothers we are actually planning on visiting all the franchises we pass on our way to San Diego next month (April). We even scheduled a stop at the corporate headquarters in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Dutch Bros has done a lot right but they have made a big mistake also. The have a flash website, I can’t link to the interior of a flash website. That’s why there is only one link to the Dutch Bros website in this whole post.
I would have liked to link to particular pages within their website but they don’t exist. The whole site is a movie, interactive aside. Every time you click on a link you get a count down for the load, what a pain. I would like to have copied some text and quoted it in this post but once again it is a flash site I can copy and paste text from a flash site.
They give such great customer service at their Dutch Bros stands why didn’t they extend it to their web visitors?
They do such a great job in the other marketing areas, how did they miss the boat when it came to their website? They were sold a bill of goods [FLASH], a flash site can be OK, you must give your visitors to the option to visit a HTML site also. Not only will this give the search engines food it will also allow your loyal customers to actually link to particular pages within the site they would like to share also.
