Do you live in Portland? Do you have some computers or computer stuff lying around the house or office that you would like to get rid of? Are you looking for a good buy on particular computer stuff?

If the answer to any of the above questions is “yes” I have the answer for you – the PMUG Swapmeet.

This event is for both Macs and PCs. It also includes anything that can be used for either. Microsoft stuff is welcome.

PMUG is holding a Computer Swap Meet Saturday August 4th at the MAC from noon to 3 pm.

Macworld: Editors’ Notes: My day at camp

Last Saturday, I spent the day at camp–MacCamp, to be precise. For the last 20-plus years, the Portland Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) has held these twice-yearly escapes for Mac devotees. Held at the very scenic Silver Falls State Park, MacCamp offers Mac users a three-day-long Mac-focused retreat from urban life. PMUG reserves four lodges (cabins) at the conference center within the park, accommodating up to 56 “campers,” though this isn’t camping in any traditional sense. The cabins contain most of the comforts of home, with the exception of an Internet connection. PMUG charges just enough to cover its costs, and doesn’t turn a profit on the event… What a great atmosphere for a meeting between fellow Mac users. Congrats, PMUG, on yet another successful MacCamp hopefully I’ll be back for the full experience next spring.

Once again it looks as though MacCamp is a success. If you enjoy Macintosh computers and the company of other Mac users maybe you should join the Portland Macintosh Users Group next time around.
