email Marketing It’s Easy and You Can Even Try It for FREE! I Mean No Credit Card Free!

Today I attended a seminar by Ron Cates sponsored by Constant Contact at the Governor Hotel.
Over all this was a very rewarding seminar. I attended both the morning session and the afternoon session.
Shirley and I took our lunch break at the India House restaurant. Yumm…
(warning website is all flash)
Ron was trying to convince us that email is more popular than any other form of communication. He isn’t reading the latest information available. With Facebook out drawing Google this month with weekly visits… Email is still popular and I use it but… There are other ways of communication today and some are more popular. While I don’t totally agree with Ron, I still believe email marketing is not dead, it is still a very effective way to market a product or service and I even use Constant Contact.
Ron’s sound system is having problems. The sound is going in and out. Good thing he has a very boisterous voice. ![]()

Next we learned about how to build an email list.
- If you have a Brick and Mortar business, tell each of your visitors about your informative newsletter
- Ask the people you get business cards from if you can sign them up for your informative newsletter
Here is a good newsletter elevator speech:
“I do this really cool email newsletter. Would you like to receive it?”
The best way to improve sign-up rate is show them what they are going to get.
Use your archived newsletters as a marketing tool for your subscriptions.
Put the sign-up for your newsletter on your social media sites.
