How important is communication and contact management to your business?

In any business, large or small the importance of communication is the key. You need communications both internally and externally. So just what is the definition of communication?
According to dictionary.com the definition of communication is:

As you can see from the definition above why effective communication is probably the most important activity we can do as a business. Communication must be our number one priority in any business. Whether this communication is internal or external, it must happen. Without it everything will fall apart. One to the most important types of communication as far as sales go is contact management. I recently came across some incredible communication software.
