Before Craigslist there were scams and frauds using email, newspaper classified ads, and just about any other thing people use on any consistent basis. The Nigerian Scam is the first to come to mind and how about the Yahoo Christmas scam. As long as there is communication there will be scams and thieves. Email scams, internet scams and scams of all kinds are, sorry to say, here to stay.
