I called it last year when Danny Sullivan bought his first Macintosh computer.
This year Danny is giving the keynote at SearchFest 2009.
The next thing you know Danny will be attending SEMpdx SearchFest ‘09.
Danny is taking the podium. His mic isn’t working. Danny is using the hand-held mic.
Danny is a West Coast boy so he knows where Portland is. He was surprised there are so many search marketers here. Danny didn’t know Portland was a small town he thinks Portland has an inferiority complex.
SEM umbrella:
- SEO: generating unpaid traffic from search
- Paid Search / PPC: generating taffic from paid listings
- SEM: Combination of both
Originally getting fraffic search but now includes:
- Link building
- Conversational / social marketing
- Conversion analysis
- Usability
We are Online Marketers.
SEM is not SEO!
Don’t be a CRAP hat!
Even if it works and everyone else is doing it, it is still crap.
Just say no and tell everyone else to say NO!
Danny no longer is in the trenches actively building a SEO business he is reporting on it.
