Does Your Sitemap Work

The V7 Network Blog on site Sitemap doesn’t.
While visiting the V7 Network Blog this morning I saw a link to the Sitemap and I clicked on it.

I got an empty page, well it had the usual left navigation and the right column ads as well as the
site map with a (no title) link that lead back to the exact page I was on. There was also some text with a link touting “sitemap plugin by dagondesign.com”.
If you are going to have a sitemap on your site make sure it works and it doesn’t matter whether it is a sitemap.xml for the search engines or an actual sitemap designed for human visitors.
Automation is great but if it doesn’t work you would be better off not even using it.
After more research my conclusion is that the plugin does work [Gary Pool blog sitemap] the V7 Network just didn’t configure it properly. After all they are a SEO blog not a usability blog. Is there really that much of a difference?
