Is Vista Doomed from the Start?

Well it is a Micro$oft product. This reminds me of the theory about the president dying in office. If the president is elected in a year ending in a “0″ he will die in office. (maybe I’m showing my age) Regan broke this one, will Longhorn (Vista) be the one to break the M$ one?

Could a 30-in. monitor help you do your job faster?
In a Computerworld article Could a 30-in. monitor help you do your job faster?A French IT consultant says yes, but productivity experts disagree.
Does it really matter? I think more monitor space always helps. Who cares? If you have the money you too can be really cool and have a 30 inch monitor. Why not have 2 or 3?
Visual Studio 2005 vs. Dreamweaver
Visual Studio 2005 vs. Dreamweaver
This is interesting from a company that gave us FrontPage, probably creating the worst code on the internet. I wouldn’t give you a plug nickel for all the FrontPage code on the web. I went to the M$ site to check it out and download a trial copy: Guess what? It is Windoz only and this is what it said “Readme: Microsoft Visual “Studio 2005 Express Edition Setup Issues
This document lists issues that concern installation, uninstall, repair, and other setup procedures.
For issues that are not setup related, please see the online Visual Studio Express Known Issues”
Well for the Adobe vs. Micro$oft question, I’ll keep using my Mac and Adobe until Billy’s boys consider the creative world. Heck, I don’t even use Dreamweaver.
Wow! M$ is comparing their new stuff to Adobe’s Dreamweaver and Adobe isn’t even mentioning M$’s Virtual Studio.
I guess this is just a rant!

You’ve seen the wigets for your desktop. Now Google has gadgets for your webpages!
I was going to add one of these gadgets to this blog entry but I got an error message “Error parsing module spec: Not a properly formatted file missing xml header”. I guess they still have a few “features” to work out. They are still interesting and worth checking out at Google Gadgets For Your Webpage.
Well I guess it does work after all. Pretty nifty eh?
Good gadget hunting,
Gary
How to convince a client their site doesn’t need music
How to convince a client their site doesn’t need music
This is a great article and I would suggest everyone who ever considered putting auto-playing music on their website read it. Even if you have a band site you should put a play and stop music button on the page. Let the visitor to decide for them selves if they want to listen to the music and how much they want to listen to.

I ran into this article on the web this morning and I whole heartedly agree. White Rose Productions has been using text links styled with CSS for quite some time now.
